Annual Parish Meeting – February 7

Our Annual Parish Meeting is Sunday, February 7th at 8:30am in the Parish Hall. Nominations for vestry, convention delegates and SPBTS Foundation will be accepted through January 10th. See the insert in Sunday’s worship bulletin for more information. Please take part in selecting your church leadership!

For only $15 per person, you can enjoy the best shrimp dinner at the beach! If you cannot eat shrimp, choose the delicious baked chicken. Drinks (wine, beer, and non-alcoholic) and dessert are included with this great dinner. Take-out is also available; just indicate that choice on your reservation form. The Sassy Tappers will entertain. Talk to your friends, get a group together, have fun and be happy – for Lent starts the following Wednesday. Child care is available. Indicate on your reservation form how many children require child care. See any member of the Brotherhood to make your reservation.

Newcomer Lunch – January 31st

A long-overdue Newcomer Lunch with chili on the menu will be held January 31st starting at 11:45am in Stormes Hall. Please come to greet the newest parishioners and attendees of St. Paul’s by-the-Sea.

SPBTS is hosting a Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on Sunday, January 17th at 4pm featuring music from the University of North Florida Chamber Singers. A reception will follow the service. If you are able to provide food or a helping hand for the reception, please contact Jerri.

Wednesdays in Advent

On Dec 2, 9, and 16 we will offer “A Thrill of Hope: The Christmas Story in Word and Art.”  Each of the three evenings will include a light supper at 6pm, the program at 6:30pm, and closing worship at 7:15pm. All activities in the Parish Hall–begin at 6pm, out by 7:30pm sharp.  Come to any or all of these evening sessions as you are able.

Incredible Edibles – November 21, 8am-2pm

Call your friends and neighbors to let them know that the doors will be open from 8am until 2pm for Incredible Edibles. Be sure to tell them about the homemade holiday foods; frozen soups and casseroles, cakes, cookies, pies, jams, jellies, bread and much, much more. Let them know there will be collectibles of all kinds, crafts, decorations, and themed gift baskets. The French Café serving coffee and beignets in the morning and a light lunch to eat in or take out.

ICARE Assessment – October 27

ICARE – (Interfaith Coalition for Action, Reconciliation, & Empowerment) SPBTS participants will be attending the ICARE Community Problems Assessment. Join us! Come out and hear updates on the Jacksonville Day Resource Center, Restorative Justice, and our mental health and jobs works. We will also vote to take on a new problem. The choices are crime, housing, or healthcare. Time and place: Tuesday, October 27, 7-8:30pm, Christ the King Catholic Church at 742 N. Arlington Road in Jacksonville.

All Saints’ Sunday – November 1

We will celebrate All Saints’ Day on November 1st. The 10am service will begin outside in the Memorial Garden. Contact the parish office, 249-4091, with names of people you would like remembered.
