Christmas Eve Services

by admin on December 21, 2017

We invite you to join us on Christmas Eve! At 9:00am, we have Lessons and Carols. The 5:00pm and 10:00pm (10:00pm service proceeded by a choral presentation of the Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio at 9:30) services feature the artistry of Kayo Ishimaru, Principal harpist of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Holly Hammond, soprano, Dr. James Hall (UNF), tenor, and James Houck, baritone; who will join the SPBTS Chancel Choir in selections from the Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio, accompanied on organ by Dr. Peter DeWitt (member of SPBTS choir). Both services will have the beautiful Magnificat from the Saint-Saens Oratorio as the offertory anthem. This beautiful selection calls for a trio of soloists accompanied solely by harp – a truly heavenly experience! For those who are allergic to incense, please note: there will not be incense at the 5pm Christmas Eve service, only at the 10pm service. Please join us for either or both services to celebrate the birth of Christ in word and song with many of your favorite carols.
